Building wraps have been used for decades to hide construction work and other eyesores from public view, but only recently have admen noticed the enormous potential of these giant pieces of fabric. What better way to promote products and services than with huge pieces of advertising, printed onto gigantic canvases of up to 15,000 square feet (in the case of the Coop’s Paints wrap below) and draped over pieces of prime real estate?

While ads that are printed on paper and plastered onto billboards fade and age within a matter of weeks, those printed onto building wraps (normally made of vinyl) stand up to the elements far better, remaining bright and eye-catching for 18 months or more. Below you’ll find 20 eye-catching printed build wrap designs from around the world. Most bare adverts, of course, but a couple are simply artistic endeavours on a massive scale. Take a look at the wonderfully wobbly designer drape adorning 39GeorgeV, for example.
